Description
Here is an extremely rare set from B&M China the very early 1800s from the English Porcelain Manufacturer Bagshaw and Meir in Staffordshire England. It is also referenced as Bagshaw and Maier It is a creamer and sugar bowl decorated with lovely blue, yellow and pink flowers. It has raised embossing throughout the design with a gold trim, so this was not a quick piece to make.
Imagine having afternoon tea with your friends and serving them with these and casually dropping the fact that these are 200 years old. What a conversation piece!
The Sugar Bowl measures 5.25″ in diameter and 3.5″ high with the lid.
The Creamer measures 3.5″in diameter without the handle and 4.5″ with the handle. It is 4″ high.
The B&M China mark dates this piece from 1802 to 1808 – referenced from the Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain marks. This means that this set is 200 years old.
There are in superb vintage condition considering their age. Amazingly, there are no chips or cracks on these pieces, just some crazing and wear to the gold trim which is to be expected of a piece that is 200 years old. The insides of both the sugar bowl and creamer are clean.
Please look at the photos closely to see the quality and condition of these pieces.
