These are beautiful and stunning hand painted Limoges France, Tressemann & Vogt Large Fruit Centerpiece bowl decorated with hand painted bunches of hanging cherries, blackberries and grapes pastel green background. The photos do not to do the justice. It has a lovely ping to it as well. Simply stunning and just image how it will look on your table for display.
The mark dates this piece from 1892-1907.
The bowls measure 11.75″ in diameter and 5.5″ high.
This would be a wonderful addition on any collection It is in very good vintage condition considering it is well over 100 years old. There are no chips or cracks or crazing, a bit of wear to the trim.
Gustave Vogt (1849-1937), took over the Limoges branch by 1870 and partnered with Emilien Tressemanes in the early 1880’s. In 1891 they bought two small porcelain factories in Faubourg Montjovis (Limoges) and made high quality whiteware for export to the USA. The company was commissioned in 1891 to produce a dinner service for President Harrison.
Tressemann retired in 1907 and Gustave Vogt became sole owner and changed the name to Porcelaine Gustave Vogt. In 1919 Martial Reynaud bought the company and continued using the T&V mark as well as his own Reynaud mark. Reynaud porcelain remains in business today.
