This is a delightful and rare piece to find a plate by Tressemann & Vogt Limoges, France hand painted plate decorated with lovely red flowers with gold accents and leaves. The colors are vivid and bright, the gold reflects at different angles giving it a great affect. Would make a fabulous display piece.
The mark dates this piece from 1892-1907.
The tray or plate measures about 8.5" in diameter.
This would be a wonderful addition on any collection It is in very good vintage condition considering it is well over 100 years old. There are no chips or cracks. There has some minor wear on the ridges, but that is it. Stunning.
Gustave Vogt (1849-1937), took over the Limoges branch by 1870 and partnered with Emilien Tressemanes in the early 1880’s. In 1891 they bought two small porcelain factories in Faubourg Montjovis (Limoges) and made high quality whiteware for export to the USA. The company was commissioned in 1891 to produce a dinner service for President Harrison.
Tressemann retired in 1907 and Gustave Vogt became sole owner and changed the name to Porcelaine Gustave Vogt. In 1919 Martial Reynaud bought the company and continued using the T&V mark as well as his own Reynaud mark. Reynaud porcelain remains in business today.
