Here is an exceptional hand painted footed teacup and saucer with beautiful pastel green colored leaves and a lovely pink flower centerpiece, with the raised gold lines outlining the leaves and flower. The saucer has a gentle scalloped edge and the teacup has gold feet and a pearl lusterware and scrollwork on the outside of the teacup. Such attention to detail. Looks like an enamel paint was used.
This is a way above the average teacup with the lovely design , and just the quality and feel of this cup. You will feel so special drinking Afternoon tea or Sunday Morning breakfast with this lovely teacup. Photos to do this justice.
There are no marks on this, but based on the design and use of the oyster lusterware finish I would say this is Japanese from the 40s or 50s.
The teacup measures 4″ wide not including the handle and just under 2.5″ high.
The saucer measures just under 5.75″ in diameter.
It is in good vintage condition for its age, no chips or cracks, some minor wear, mainly to the outside gold trim and it looks like a scrape on the top of the inside lip of the teacup shown in the photos. The main hand painted portions are in very good condition which still leaves this a piece that would be a great addition to any collection. We have discounted accordingly.
