Antique Martin Hall & Co Sheffield England Silverplate Buffet Warmer Chafing Dish with Rotating Dome Lid – Elegant Serving Elegant Dining

Out of stock

This Martin, Hall & Co silver electroplate warming dish / chafing dish is just lovely with beautiful detailing on the feet and the lid as well as the turned handles and finials. This is a four piece set with the base, the steam bowl, the reticulated bowl and the domed lid, which rotates to open and close. This would make an elegant addition to your dining or buffet table!

This piece has the Martin Hall & Co hallmark. It also has the initials EPGS which stands for Electro Plate German Silver. Martin, Hall & Company made silver and silver plated items and were in business from 1854-1934 in Sheffield, England, UK, so this piece dates from that time period, although I feel it was closer to 1900-1910.

This piece is in excellent condition, especially considering its age. Please note that the dark spots on the photos are the camera. The only issues to note are listed here. There is some wear to the bakelite button, which is consistent with its age (see photo 9) and wear to the bottom of the base (see last photo). This piece has been lightly polished but may need more.

This piece can be taken apart for polishing and washing and I show a picture of each piece in photo 8 and the small pieces, including the Bakelite Button in photo 9.
