From Ridgeways, `Coaching Days & Coaching Ways’ series, was made in the 1890s to the 1920s in Shelton, Staffordshire, England, Hugh Thomson (1860-1920), the famous illustrator, did a wonderful series of drawings for the book, first published in 1888, by Mac Millan & Co. Decorated with black drawings on yellow caramel background. The book’s popularity was underscored by the success the Ridgways firm had upon issuing their long series of “Coaching Days” ware

The pitcher measures 8″ by 5″ wide.
The mugs measure 4″ high by 3″ wide.

There are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks, but they have some crazing which is unfortunately normal for the glaze that was used for this series, but does not detract form the great design and look of these.
