Here is an 1879 Leather Bound First Edition of “The Girlhood of Shakespeare’s Heroines” by Mary Cowden Clarke published by Bickers and Son, London in 1879. The cover has a thick blue leather binding and the pages are outlined in gold.
New Edition. Condensed by her sister Sabilla Novello. With nine illustrations in permanent photography from pictures by T F Dicksee and W S Herrick. Binding by the famous London firm of Ramage, with raised bands, gilt titles, margins and tooling.
This book contains 456 pages.
Measures 9.75″ by 7.75″
It is in very good vintage condition for its age, the binding is solid, cover has minor wear to the edges and corners, the gilt work is still clear , pages are very readable. Please look at our other vintage items as we love to combine shipping. As always, happy shopping!
