Description
Here is a lovely large Mallard Duck in a Crust Handled En Croute Covered Vegetable Dish Casserole Terrine from Pillivuyt France, decorated as it is was a baked pastry with a figural mallard duck handle. Really quite lovely and will look great on display when not in use. Photos do not do this justice. The maker describes them as Porcelaines a Feu (fired porcelain) which is confirmed by their hard, glassy, white interior.
It is marked Pillivuyt France stamp and the number 26. It is also has the impressed number 5.
The dish measures 10 1/8″ long by 6 1/8″ wide and 6.5″ high with the lid. It is in very good vintage condition, no chips, cracks or crazing, there are two pain flecks missing on the duck, looks like it was never used. Please examine the photos closely as they are part of the description.
