This set of 5 Whiting Madame Jule sterling silver spoons consists of 3 teaspoons and 2 five o’clock spoons. These spoons are just gorgeous. These pieces are monogrammed with an N. These pieces weigh 90 grams.
Whiting was founded in 1866 in Massachusetts by William Dean Whiting. The company was purchased by Gorham, who produced Whiting’s patterns until 1926. A five o’clock spoon is found in antique flatware sets because these spoons were used for five o’clock tea before dinner. They are just beautiful and would look great with other antique sterling flatware pieces.
These spoons are marked with the Whiting hallmark, Sterling Pat .1909.
These pieces are in very good vintage condition with some minor scratching from storage and use. One of the spoons has a little extra wear (see last photo), but nothing that affects the beauty or usability of these pieces.
Each teaspoon measures approximately 5-1/4″ and each five o’clock spoon measures approximately 5-1/2″ long.
This five o’clock teaspoon sells for approximately $35 – $45 or more each on replacement sites.
