Here is an incredible English bone china gold demitasse cappuccino teacup and saucer from the mid 1800s. It is hand marked pattern 1487 on the bottom, no other marks. The lot was marked Spode but have not been able to verify that. It is beautifully decorated in white and gold. The saucer has a considerable raised edge indicative of the early to mid 1800, when it was typical for ladies to sip tea from the saucer and is a little larger than normal and looser for a demitasse cup.
The cup measures 2 5/8" in diameter without the handle and 2.5" high.
The saucer measures just under 5 5/8" in diameter with a 1" lip.
