This is a stunning hand painted vase from Noritake in Japan. It is beautifully decorated with Noritakes signature Country Cottages with a lake scene design from the turn of the century. What makes this very unusual is that it is a two segment vase. It has a lovely gold gild finish on the top of the case and on the handles.
It measures approx 7″ high and 3″ wide and has no chips or cracks. It is in escellent shape with the exception of one tiny ding on the back of the vase, but still looks good and remember it is almost 100 years old. There is almost no wear on the gold work. It looks like this was hardly used.
This will look marvelous in a china cabinet or on the mantle, where it is for me today and I enjoy looking at it everyday. Beautiful items like this do not always come around.
The mark on the bottom is Van Pattern #7 and dates this piece from 1921 to 1940s.
