Here is a Very Rare Hardcover Illustrated Political Humor Book "Scissors or the Funny Side of Politics" by Henry Frederic Reddall published by Geo. V. Jones & Co of Boston in 1889. It is a compilation of anecdotes and stories of past and current campaigns and political cartoons. Introduction page explains "A Compilation From The History, Biography And Current Literature Of Our Century…Some Of The Anecdotes And Reminiscence Have Never Before Appeared In Print." Text includes prose and verse accompanying illustrations. A fine example is seen on the first page "The Sad Fate Of Ten Little Candidates" . Many of the anecdotes identify current (1888) and past political figures including Jackson, Lincoln and Civil War figures. It is really quite amusing.
