What a beautiful pair of vintage blue aurora borealis rhinestone clip earrings on a silver tone setting! These are just beautiful and each rhinestone is individually pronged, which is why these earrings are in such wonderful condition – they were well made and well cared for!

What is aurora borealis? Aurora borealis stones are coated with thin layers of metal to enhance brilliance and reflective color quality. The method used in coating the stone involves vaporizing metals in a vacuum. This method was first developed by Swarovski Crystals in 1955. Of course, it was then copied by other jewelry manufacturers.
